      <image:title>SPANISH CEDAR - Spanish Cedar (Cedrela odorata)</image:title>
<image:caption>Spanish Cedar or Cedro Real is in the same family as Mahogany and is another much sought after tropical timber species which once predominated the forests from Mexico to Brazil. Traditional logging in the 1800’s and 1900’s would primarily target just two species; Spanish Cedar and Mahogany as both float and can be extracted through the network of rivers which existed in the virgin rainforest. Spanish Cedar is also on the CITES endangered species list due to its high demand internationally which has led to its depletion.</image:caption>

<image:title>WILD TAMBRAN - Wild Tambran Hardwood (Pithecellobium arboreum)</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the hidden gems of Central America’s tropical forests, Wild Tambran is a beautiful and versatile hardwood, highly valued by those familiar with it. Its heartwood is typically a rich, reddish-brown color that can, at times, display figured grain and deep luster. Tambran is harder and possesses straighter grain than Genuine Mahogany, making it an effective substitute, at a third of the cost.</image:caption>

<image:caption>A hard figured wood which is used for car dashboards, guitars and other decorative inlays. The very pronounced growth rings and dark luxurious color is very sought after. Cocobolo species is endangered but rapid depletion continues in Nicaragua. Rosewood is slower growing than teak but has a higher market value and almost all of the tree is usable. It can be sold in small small short blocks or even by weight. Primary consumption is in China for small inlays and decorative pieces or carvings.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Commonly known as Roble de Sabana or Rosy Trumpert Tree because of its large pink flowers, is a large tropical tree growing up to 30 m in height. It is common in moist or rather dry forest, often in open fields or along roadsides, most abundant on the Pacific plains, but often on steep hillsides, at elevations up to 1,200 meters. This specie usually functions as a shade tree in coffee and cocoa plantations but makes an excellent timber.
